Today was quite stress free when it comes to this painting. I sat on my desk with a certain idea of a portrait in mind, but since it wasn't coming out how I wanted, I just erased it and started again. 

The sketch for this digital painting started out pretty spontaneous and I was very much looking forward to playing around with a weird skin tone like this one. I was actually surprised that I was able to finish it within a day.

I guess that when you feel like being a bit more care free, things go way smoother! :D

I loved playing around with the hair and the abstract background. I have the full psd process with all the process layers up on my Gumroad, if interested!

Hello everyone!!

Here's my take on this month's birthstone: the pearl! There are actually 2 other stones associated with june, the alexandrite and the moonstone. I decided to go with the pearl. Since pearls are one of the symbols of weddings, I decided to paint a bridal-ish character.

Hello guys! 

Phew, I finally finished the commission requested by a good friend of mine! It was a fun challenge since I never painted two characters in the same painting. She requested a portrait of them both, as a gift for her friend's birthday, and I tried to paint them in a semi realistic style, which is what my style essentially is. My friend is a cosplayer, hence her outfit on this piece. You can check out her IG here!

I don't think I have won anything in these last few years, so I am very happy about this recognition. Sometimes I feel a bit unsure about my skills and what I put out, so this came just in the right time to boost my confidence!

Hello everyone!

I missed my wednesday post as I'm still trying to finish a commission - so I can have it ready by the end of the week - which makes me realise I need to step up my time management skills :c I try to make 3 pieces a week, but sometimes it feels like 24 hours in a day is just not enough.

For this digital painting, I wanted to paint something with some kind of armor and with an incoming war feeling to it. I really liked how the colors and her outfit came out, but still feel like I need to work on my backgrounds.

Hello everyone! How was your weekend? Here where I live, all of a sudden, the weather turned into summer time weather and I've been trying to adjust to it. Not too long ago it was still cold and rainy x.x

Hello everyone! Hope you had an awesome weekend!

This was a little something that I finished over the weekend while still working on a commission. A friend of mine asked me to paint a portrait of her and her friend for her bday which made me very happy! :D 

When it comes to this piece, I was actually a bit frustrated during the process. I realised how easy it is to feel like giving up on a painting when the whole image still looks like a mess in the process. At most I learned to just keep going and accept that there will be "ugly stages" until the finished result. I fint it important to keep in mind whenever confidence isn't very abundant.

Hi everyone!

Here's my take on a pirate girl. After 2 years on this digital painting journey, I feel like I finally found my favorite approach to painting. I've been sketching and blocking color in grayscale as my base, and it has been doing wonders on how I can mentally envision how I want my final result to be. 

I used to find grayscale quite boring, since I like to play with color, but now that I learned some new ways of coloring grayscale, I've been having quite some fun! :D

This piece was truly relaxing to work on. The sketch started as a girl with a big scarf, but as I was painting it, for some reason, it looked like she was in the water - so I went with that instead! It's always fun when things take turns we wouldn't think of otherwise. I've also been loving being a bit more dramatic in colors by having them more saturated.

Hi everyone! How was your weekend?

Here's my VERY late birthstone illustration for last month's birthstone: the emerald! For some reason, I had quite some trouble with this one. I spent 5 days on this piece because I was going way too much back and forth with how I should portray this stone. I hope you like it and I'll see you next wednesday :D

 Hello everyone!

As I haven't finished a digital painting that I could post today, I'll be sharing some few other things I've been doing. Even though digital painting is what I love to do the most, I've always wanted to dwelve a bit more into traditional art, since I also find important to have physical original art material to eventually sell.

I've been experimenting with many mediums, in the last few months and I'll be sharing some finished and unfinished traditional pieces.
